A summer of art teaching in Scotland

I had a fantastic week earlier in the summer teaching on the remote Scottish island of Tanera Mor through Bridgehouse Art in Ullapool. The weather was fantastic and I, along with my students, was looked after beautifully by Lizzie and Rich Williams who run the island. Beautiful meadows full of orchids and fantastic views across to Stac Polly and Suilvan on the mainland gave plenty of inspiration for a week of drawing, painting and printmaking.

Each day was rounded off with me showing slides for the next day’s inspiration and a tasty meal. The week finished with a small exhibition in the space we had been working in.

About flyingcreature

I'm a Cumbrian born painter and printmaker based in Scotland. My work is inspired by British nature. I studied on the Foundation Course at Leith School of Art in 2003 before going on to take the MA Fine Art degree at Edinburgh College of Art and Edinburgh University graduating in 2008. I now make my work from my studio in Coburg House and teach drawing, painting and printmaking at Leith School of Art and around Scotland.
